INTRODUCTION
Moltus Building Group is a commercial general contractor headquartered in Midland, Michigan, that works locally in Michigan as well as throughout the United States and Canada for Fortune 100 companies and local entrepreneurs. We are a growing company actively looking for highly self-motivated individuals to join our TEAM of Concrete Laborers.
DUTIES
The list of duties below is not intended to be an all-inclusive list, nor is it arranged in order of priority. These duties are not meant to restrict initiative but rather describe minimum activities. The duties of this position shall range in complexity and nature depending on the needs of the department and company. Concrete Laborer duties shall include, but not be limited to:
- Setting up concrete forms according to blueprints and specifications
- Finishing concrete surfaces using hand and power tools to ensure a smooth and even finish
- Flat work with emphasis on attention to detail and quality work
- Setting (& removing) forms – poured wall foundations & footings.
- Pouring & finishing concrete (walls & footings)
- Stationing and setting joints, assure all joints are properly matched.
- Maintaining consistent quality, texture in handwork
- Cut, remove and straightedge all butt joints.
- Assure overall job drainage.
- Assist in handwork, prep work and cleanup as directed by the foreman.
- Performs all functions as directed by foreman or lead operator in conjunction with preparation, layout, cleaning, and finishing the operation.
- Guide come along and level out concrete mud off trucks/pumps.
- Screed concrete
- Finish using bull floats, trowels, brooms, and/or stamp.
- Setup/Prep for flatwork jobs
- Finish interior and exterior flatwork.
- Lifting and setting of panels
- Setting & Tying Rebar
- Ensure that all OSHA, client standards, and company safety standards are met.
ESSENTIAL ATTRIBUTES
- Self-driven with the ability to work independently but also collaborate as a team.
- Free thinking and creative.
- Adaptability, ability to multitask and prioritize.
- Adept at reviewing and understanding blueprints, specification manuals, reports, etc.
- Understanding of components involved with commercial construction operations.
- Involves general knowledge of all divisions of construction
- Willingness to travel.
- Forward thinking mindset with drive for growth and success.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Heavy lifting and physical labor for extended periods of time
- Comfortable around dust, dirt, chemicals, machinery, and loud noises
- Setting up for projects
- Finishing concrete – at least 2 full seasons
- Working well with others/being a team player
- Proven experience in concrete, particularly in commercial construction projects.
- OSHA and CPR/First Aid/AED certified preferred (will train)
