Justin prides himself on leading and managing Moltus Building Group by providing guidance and support to ensure team members can perform their duties effectively and efficiently. Justin’s intuitive insights into construction challenges and his approachable nature establish the perfect scenario for building the future through teamwork, trust, and solutions.

Justin’s love of construction began very early in life while visiting his paternal grandfather each summer in Southern Ohio. During these visits, Justin recalls touring many new homes under construction and being captivated by the process. His interest continued growing back home in Michigan while being involved in numerous projects with his maternal grandfather, a skilled carpenter, and contractor in northern Michigan. Justin remembers listening to stories of the various projects and getting involved anytime there was work to be done.

Through the years, Justin has obtained a diverse construction background and proven ability to oversee day-to-day operations on complex construction projects. Justin uses his lifelong experience to gain the respect of Owners, design teams, subcontractors, and co-workers.

Understanding the construction industry, Justin focuses on client relationship management by developing and maintaining strong relationships, ensuring projects are completed successfully, and all stakeholders are satisfied with the outcome. Under Justin’s leadership, Moltus Building Group has expanded into 28 states and five of Canada’s provinces. Justin spends time with industry organizations and currently serves as Board Vice President of the Great Lakes Bay Manufacturer’s Association.

Being a true Michigander, Justin enjoys spending time with his family in the beautiful outdoors. When not in the office, he enjoys trail riding, hunting, fishing, and spending time in Michigan’s Upper Peninsula.

From a curious kid checking out projects down the street to now, Justin believes in the commercial construction industry. Seeing a successful plan implemented continues to be a thrill for him, even after 3+ decades.

Cody Benish, a Wisconsin Native, first came to the area while working on the Soaring Eagle Water Park in Mt. Pleasant, MI. Over the years, he kept in contact with project team members and, when the timing was right, made a move to Michigan. Cody believes in the Michigan construction market and appreciates the tireless work ethic of Midwest employees. Cody’s expertise includes project planning and management, budgeting, scheduling, and team leadership. He has a proven track record of delivering complex projects on time and within budget while maintaining the highest quality and safety standards.

Cody holds a bachelor’s degree in Construction Management from the University of Wisconsin. Before coming to Moltus Building Group, Cody began his career working on various construction projects, including commercial buildings, mixed-use development projects, and indoor water parks. Cody has skillfully managed over $345M in construction projects. He likes to be involved in all tasks, getting his hands on a little bit of everything, staying involved from planning to completion. His project management experience, good nature, and talent allow him to build long-term relationships.

When Cody isn’t in the office, you can find him rooting on the Wisconsin Badgers and appreciating a newfound love for family time with his wife and daughter. A self-proclaimed “avid golfer,” he looks forward to spending any free time on the greens.

AJ Licht serves as the Chief Financial Officer for Moltus Building Group, responsible for the company’s overall financial strategy and operations. As a senior manager at a CPA firm, AJ gained extensive experience in construction industry taxes, consulting, and financial planning. AJ’s relationship with Moltus Building Group began when he was their CPA and transitioned into this full-time role after seeing and believing firsthand in the company’s vision and culture.

A dedicated worker, AJ became Moltus’ CFO in October 2021, focusing on growth and company longevity. He holds a bachelor’s degree in Professional Accountancy from Saginaw Valley State University, is a Certified Public Accountant (CPA), and is a Certified Construction Industry Financial Professional (CCIFP). He is also an active member of several professional organizations, including the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA) and the Michigan Association of CPAs (MICPA). AJ is fully dedicated to Moltus Building Group, knowing they offer the strength of a national builder with the personalized attention of a small company. AJ works diligently to ensure that Moltus has the best financial strategy and plan to set every project up for success.

A Michigan thumb native, AJ now resides in Freeland with his wife and son. In his spare time, AJ looks forward to spending time up north at their cabin and enjoying the great outdoors. When he can sneak away, he enjoys golfing on Michigan’s many golf courses.

Meet Joe Stec, our Director of Construction with over 30 years of experience in the construction industry. He oversees all aspects of construction projects at Moltus Building Group, from planning and design to execution and completion. He works closely with our clients and subcontractors to ensure that projects are completed to their specifications.

Joe started his career in the construction industry as a laborer while still in high school. Over the past 30 years, he has had the opportunity to work his way up through various trades in the industry, such as site development, concrete construction, and Carpentry. This work experience has developed into a broad understanding of all aspects of the construction trades. With this hands-on experience, Joe brings a wealth of knowledge and an overall viewpoint of the construction process to the table.

Joe is a problem solver, recognized for proactively identifying potential pitfalls and preparing a plan to work around challenges to make a project successful. He is also passionate about mentoring and developing the next generation of construction professionals. Saying he is “motivated by the future, and seeing younger generations, build better than we could have.”

When not working, Joe is an outdoorsman and enjoys ATV trail riding, fishing, being outdoors, and spending time with family. He is excited about how technology and the emerging markets of renewable energy and sustainable building practices will change the construction industry in the future.

Theresa Welling is the Director of Human Resources for Moltus Building Group, providing overall leadership of talent management, employee relations, and compensation and benefits. Theresa joined the company in 2016 as the Director of Internal Operations, coming from 27 years in the construction industry and 22 years in construction management.

Her favorite part about the construction industry is seeing the different stages from bid… to close out. The timeline and progress of a project and its successful completion bring Theresa great satisfaction. A calming and strong presence for Moltus Building group, she takes great pride in being the person to help answer any HR questions and concerns. Her years of experience and extensive network within the construction industry ensures that the right team members are in place to exceed client expectation.

Theresa found a love for construction early on, recalling childhood memories of being in and around the process of clearing and developing 40 acres of property in Northwest Michigan. (Including digging a lake!) Her father was an outdoorsman with four girls who took an interest in his hobbies, including riding dirt bikes and fishing.

During Michigan’s warmer months, as a life-long hobby, Theresa can be found in her beautiful garden, planting abundant attractions for pollinators and butterflies. She also looks forward to riding her Harley-Davidson Motorcycle, her favored mode of transportation to Moltus Building Group.
